A few years ago, I started working on my second feature-length film. Entitled "The Defective Detective," I had no idea how much work it was going to be. Strangely, I should have considering my previous film took me the better part of three years to finish, but I was ambitious, and decided (as a recent high-school grad at the time, no less!) to film a 100-minute movie in under three months. And aside from some pick-up shoots outside of the principle photography, I managed to meet that goal. Granted, it took me over a year to edit the damn thing.

One particular sequence featuring the solo acting expertise of Austin Hillebrecht , aka "croonstreet" was a logistical editing nightmare and took over my life for several months. Overall, making this film was a tremendous commitment that remains, despite its silly exterior, very emotionally meaningful to me, and even though there is a mountain of room for improvement, I truly could not be more proud of what was accomplished — a true labor of love.

The film was finished at the end of 2007, where it had a small premiere in Portland, OR and a limited DVD release. Aside from its local reception, the film has gone unseen by the general public — and that's about to change!

I'm proud to announce that "The Defective Detective" is to be released exclusively on deviantART. Broken up into smaller chapters, the entire film will be gradually released throughout the rest of the year. Even though to me the project is somewhat ancient history, I'd be happy to hear any feedback, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Currently, I'm in the middle of pre-production for my next big film project, a collaboration with Austin Hillebrecht, which should be going into the shooting stage by the end of the year. And for those asking "where's that first feature-length film?" — well, it's pretty silly and a big step down in production values when compared to my more recent work, but if "The Defective Detective" is well-received I just may put that one up as well. As to what it is, well... it's a secret!
